Company Lugaia for 10 years at the site Raron

In 2013, the industrial company Lugaia AG was able to move into its new production and office premises in the Basper industrial zone in Raron. Also in the last ten years, the company has grown steadily and was able to make continuous expansions.

Lugaia AG Containment Solutions plans, develops and produces packaging and transfer solutions for the life science, pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Lugaia's core competence lies in market-ready film-based products that customers use as single-use solutions in hygiene process technology. This promising technology was introduced to the market-dominating pharmaceutical companies around 30 years ago. Since then, market demand has grown and Lugaia AG has continued to develop. In 2009, the company still employed ten people, but in the meantime the team has grown to almost 45.

Viktor Schnyder, founder and managing director of Lugaia AG, is very satisfied with the developments: "Our company is on course. We plan to continue steadily along the path we have chosen."

The most recent expansion of the production facilities was less than a year ago. The outlook for the future remains promising and nothing stands in the way of further expansion in terms of space, as the hall next door to the former Rianda car body shop has also belonged to Lugaia since this year.

"The positive growth in the past years as well as the increasing demand for flexible solutions has prompted us to take these steps," Viktor Schnyder explains the investments made.

The Raron site continues to score with its proximity to Visp and its central location in the canton. Commenting on the advantages of the Valais location, Viktor Schnyder says: "We have many loyal skilled workers who can identify with the company. In addition, there are good support measures for innovative ideas in the canton of Valais. And in the high-tech country of Switzerland, there are many pharmaceutical companies that stimulate research and development and ensure a dynamic industry."
