1. What did you want to become as a child and why?

I was fascinated by technology from a very early age. My dream job as a child was helicopter pilot. After school I went into practice and did an apprenticeship as a mechanic. I then graduated from engineering school in mechanical engineering. Until today I am convinced that this education was the right one for me.

2. How did the idea of founding Lugaia AG arise?

After the apprenticeship I worked in SMEs. That also influenced me. I have always been fascinated by the entrepreneur’s basic idea of serving the customer and thus creating added value. When I saw the opportunity to become self-employed, I grabbed it with great joy.

3. What event in your career do you remember most fondly?

When we were able to move into our own premises in Raron in 2013. It was a milestone in the history of Lugaia.

4. What makes Lugaia successful?

Our employees. In my opinion, an open and employee-friendly corporate culture is required. Like this, products and solutions are created together in a quality that puts us ahead of our competition.

5. What motivates you every day?

Working in the Lugaia team. Teamwork makes the dreamwork.

6. What is the most significant lesson you have learned as an entrepreneur?

There are many intelligent people who will tell you how to do something. I have learned to trust my intuition and to do what I think is right. So in other words my advice would be the following: «Do your own thing and take responsibility for it».

7. What is your future vision for the company Lugaia ?

We want to continue growing in our niche market, being close to the customers and helping them to optimize their processes with new products and ideas.

8. Who or what excites and inspires you?

It is certainly the great entrepreneurs and company founders who have always fascinated me, but not really the managers of large corporations.

9. What do you still love about your job today?

As always, technology is still very fascinating to me. Above all, new technologies that help people and are now increasingly protecting nature or at least putting less strain on it.

10. Where do you draw strength from?

My family and my personal environment certainly give me the most strength. However music is also very important to me. It gives me a lot of freedom for my inspirations. And then there are the mountains and nature, in which I can recharge my batteries.
