Interview with our project engineer

1. What did you want to be when you were younger and why?

Like many boys, I dreamed of becoming a pilot. I’ve always been fascinated by watching the Air Zermatt helicopters. But since I enjoyed tinkering even as a child, I eventually began my career as a mechanic.

2. When did you start working for Lugaia and why?

I’ve been with Lugaia since March 1, 2025. After over 25 years in mechanical engineering, I was looking for a fresh challenge. At Lugaia, I found both a new industry and a new role as Sales Manager.

3. Which event in your career at Lugaia do you remember most fondly?

Altough my career here is still young, one of the highlights so far was attending Pharmintech in Milan. Meeting both current and potential clients was very exciting – and the evenings with my colleagues were a lot of fun. I learned and saw a lot, both as an exhibitor and a visitor.

4. What are your daily tasks?

My daily tasks include developing custom containment solutions in the form of proposals or concept drafts. I also conduct client visits in Switzerland and abroad, provide after-sales support and attend trade shows.

5. What is your vision for the future of Lugaia?

I see Lugaia continuing as a key player in containment solutions, keeping pace with rising demands and offering innovative solutions. I hope for at least 20 more successful years for Lugaia.

6. Who or what excites and inspires you?

I’m inspired by elite athletes like Marco Odermatt and Joel Wicki. They exhibit incredible discipline, fairness and camaraderie. Despite their success, they remain humble and kind.

7. What do you still love about your job today?

I love the variety and the opportunity to develop tailor-made solutions. I also thoroughly enjoy traveling – and visiting customers is always instructive.

8. What do you draw strength from?

Family, friends and sport give me the energy and motivation I need. I also recharge at my alpine hut above St. Niklaus.

9. Do you have a life lesson?

Impossible is not an option!

10. If you could wish for something for your future, what would it be?

I would wish for more respect – both towards nature and towards other people. With digitalization (e.g. social media) and the fast pace of life, respect has somewhat diminished.
