Our new employee for Lugaia USA answered ten personal questions about his three month stay at the Lugaia headquarters in Valais, his work and his ambitions for the future.
I am…
1. What have you learnt with us in the last three months that you think is particularly important?
Of the many things I learned, something that stands out is the importance of company culture. The sense of responsibility, freedom, and trust had a huge impact on my energy and motivation to work. I found this is something I really value.
2. Which tasks did you enjoy the most?
I really enjoyed working alongside isolator concept creation, as it allows for the use of problem-solving skills in a meaningful way where you can see an idea come to life.
3. Were there any challenges and how did you deal with them?
Of course. Starting in a completely new industry, country, and with new colleagues was a bit overwhelming at first. However, I always kept an open mind and actively sought guidance from my team members, who were incredibly supportive. The combination of support and interesting work allowed me to settle in and adapt to the challenge!
4. Which areas and projects within Lugaia are of particular interest to you, and why?
Engaging with clients and being part of the initial problem-solving conversation has always been interesting for me. I enjoy the process of having clients present a challenge and then collaboratively finding a tailored solution. It’s fulfilling when you can contribute with innovation to create an effective outcome.
5. How well prepared do you feel to join Lugaia USA?
I’m really excited and confident about starting my work in the USA. My time here has been incredibly valuable, thanks to the amazing team and the projects I’ve been involved with. I’m looking forward to applying what I’ve learned on future projects and challenges!
6. What goals would you like to set yourself for your start at Lugaia USA?
Apart from getting fully ingrained in the U.S. business as quickly as possible, I hope to build strong relationships with the clients and industry professionals here. Additionally, I’d like to take on greater responsibilities and enhance my project management skills to help contribute to Lugaia USA’s growth.
7. Are there certain aspects of the corporate culture that are important to you?
I feel incredibly welcomed and supported here. The culture creates a sense of mutual care and respect, where Lugaia looks after you and in return you feel motivated to invest yourself in the company’s success. It’s unlike anything I’ve experienced in a work environment.
8. Where do you see yourself professionally in the long term, and what role does Lugaia play in this plan?
In the future, I’d love to be in a position where I can help influence and drive the growth of a company. I believe Lugaia plays a strong role in this as it provides many opportunities to grow and contribute in meaningful ways to prepare me for future challenges.
9. How did you experience the teamwork and what will you take away from it for the future?
My work here has been the perfect blend of being mentored and allowing me to independently figure things out. Collaboration between departments also flows openly, you are often engaging with engineering, production, or the warehouse when working on a solution for a client. A takeaway from this is to always remain open to helping others and to set aside the ego in collaborative work.
10. What was your favourite experience here in Valais?
A combination of meeting the wonderful people here and the nature! There’s nothing like a weekend hike in the Alps…
